DECISIONS, DECISIONS
1. Go, find and collect 2 -3 objects that move you. Similarly, you should be able to move these objects. The objects should be mysterious. They will be artifacts, which you know little about. What is the object called? What was the object used for? Where does the object come from? Who would have utilized the object? When was the object created and how was it made? How does the object operate and move? The objects should seem like they are from a different time and place, almost un-recognizable. The older the object is, the more we can discover about it, or invent about it. The less you know about the objects the better.

LAST OF THE PEPPERS
I just wanted to remind you that you should have the last 24"x36" sheet nearly complete for the Friday morning desk critiques. The weekend should be spent refining your content, adding to drawings, re-drawing were necessary, taking new photos, etc. The entire sheet should be basically finalized for friday. Remember this should be your very best work for each and every square. Take a second and third look at the drawing or the photograph. Can it be better? If it can then redo it or redraw it.
Sign up for crits on the sheet in studio.

Friday Reviews
Hello Crew, for the most part I was pleased with your initial attempt. Expectations will be increasing as we progress through the semester.
General comments about the work. Make sure that you try to get everything done, or at least started. Always make sure that you have something physical to show, so we can have a good discussion when I sit down with you. Be brave with your drawings, not timid. We are working on multiple skills and concepts at the same time. Craft, quality, speed, attention to detail, sectioning, layout, composition, analog and digital. This may feel overwhelming but you should just keep pushing. Remember there is alot of knowledge in your studio unit as a whole. Work as a team, comment, encourage and assist each other.
Stay focused. You have 5 days to get your initial work finished and the few additional requirements completed.
Goodluck this weekend.
Below is my friend Evan's studio space setup at the University of Manitoba. Notice his mini photo studio for taking pictures of his model.
